For the first time ever, executives from Carnival Cruise Lines, Medtronic and Fraunhofer FOKUS who participate in Microsoft’s Interoperability Executive Customer (IEC) Council, are speaking publicly about their experiences as Council members, sharing their insights about the tangible achievements and priorities identified by the collective group. This report is complemented by the external release of a more detailed White Paper outlining the key priority areas, including a new work stream devoted to cloud interoperability.
Microsoft also issued a more detailed white paper reporting on the results of the collaborative work which has taken place through the company’s Interoperability Executive Customer (IEC) Council. This Council was established in 2006 under the sponsorship of Microsoft Server and Tools president Bob Muglia with the objective of examining Microsoft’s role in solving some of the industry’s toughest interoperability challenges. The paper outlines the Council’s success across six work streams, or priority areas, and disclosed the objectives of a seventh priority area - cloud interoperability
The Interop Vendor Alliance (IVA) is referenced multiple times in this whitepaper and it is a recommended read on how the IVA contributes to decisions and strategy for interoperability at Microsoft and with its customers and partners.
